Job Description
Job Title: Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Baltimore MD 21211
Shift: Day / Evening / Night shifts available
Pay rate: $13 - $16/hr
Job Summary:
The Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) provides compassionate care to elderly residents in a long-term care or assisted living facility. The GNA works under the supervision of licensed nursing staff and assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) ensuring safety comfort and dignity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with bathing grooming dressing toileting and feeding
- Support mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Monitor and report changes in resident health or behavior to nursing staff
- Record vital signs intake/output and daily activities as directed
- Help maintain a clean and safe environment for residents
- Foster emotional support and companionship through daily interactions
- Assist with restorative care and recreational activities.
Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland GNA Certification (required)
- CPR/BLS Certification. (required)
- Prior experience in geriatric or long-term care
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to lift move and transfer residents
