Job Description

What you will be involved in:

  • Providing Electrical/Mechanical support to our Production team. 

  • Installation inspection testing repairs and maintenance of electrical installations; wiring of equipment including circuit breakers switchgear and transformers. 

  • Responsible for diagnosing the root cause to then repair faults in Electrical & Mechanical installations and equipment.

  • Installation and wiring of protection relays and associated equipment.

  • Execution of all electrical and mechanical preventative maintenance as per preventative maintenance program.

  • Reading and understanding all electrical specifications circuit diagrams and drawings to ensure work is carried out in line with the requirements. 

  • Undertaking testing connection and commissioning of electrical equipment. 

  • Maintaining all tools and equipment in a reliable tidy and safe manner. 

  • Assisting with any manual civil work as required.

  • Making recommendations for improvement to the departments performance and efficiency through downtime reports.


Qualifications :

Who are we looking for: 

  • NZ Registered Electrician. 

  • At least 5 years working experience in required field.

  • Previous experience working as an Electrician/Mechanic in the food industry.

  • Knowledge of cutting and welding.

  • Previous experience with Pneumatic Hydraulic Lathe and milling Machine.

  • Competent at understanding work plans and instructions. 

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow directives and procedures. 

  • An ability to use electronic devices and to quickly adapt to new technologies and systems. 

  • A customer focused approach.

  • An ability to take initiative combined with sound judgement.

  • You have excellent communication and problem-solving skills; oral written and interpersonal. 

  • Ability to plan and prioritise your workload on a daily basis. 

  • Ability to work constructively in a team.
