Join the Team at Oaks Mackay Rivermarque Hotel Part Time Commis Chef
Oaks Mackay Rivermarque Hotel an iconic property located in the heart of Mackay is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part Time Commis Chef to join our small and busy kitchen. This role will primarily work Breakfast shifts (6am - 9.30am Mon - Fri & 7.30am - 10.30am Sat & Sun) with potential for further dinner shifts as well.
As a Commis Chef youll play a key role in supporting the daily kitchen operations across our Restaurant and Conferences & Events. Youll work closely with our talented team and report directly to the Restaurant Manager gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced professional environment.
What Youll Do:
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes.
- Support service across multiple outlets including the restaurant event spaces and in-room dining.
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are consistently maintained.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver a seamless guest experience.
Hourly Rates (excluding super):
Monday - Friday: $27.17 per hour
Saturday: $33.96 per hour
Sunday: $40.76 per hour
Qualifications :
To be successful in this role you will need to:
- Hold relevant Certificate III cookery qualifications and previous experience in a similar role.
- Have knowledge about Modern Australian Cuisine
- Have knowledge and understanding of HACCP and OH&S
- Be flexible to work a range of different shifts including weekends.
- Be able to work under pressure within a dynamic team environment.
- Be able to coach and motivate less experienced members of the kitchen team.
- Be self-motivated and able to work without supervision.
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work across a flexible roster including mornings evenings weekends and public holidays.
