The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense Space and Security is seeking DSP Algorithms Engineers (Associate or Experienced) to join the Space Intelligence and Weapons Systems teams in El Segundo CA! Boeings Space Intelligence and Weapons Systems oversees the companys major commercial and government satellite and ground programs for communications national defense and other missions.
As a DSP Algorithms Engineer you will design and develop state-of-the-art space-based communication systems for commercial civil and/or national security programs. You will be part of a highly-motivated team that works with domestic or international customers on their latest satellite systems.
Project assignments typically span the unit life cycle from internal trades concept studies and system definition to satellite unit development and test. Candidates will belong to a systems engineering team interacting with customers suppliers program management integration and test engineers and senior technologists.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the El Segundo CA location.
This worksite participates in Boeings optional 9/80 schedule rotation. 9/80 is a rotation in which employees can work 9 hour shifts 8 days per pay period (bi-weekly) and receive every other Friday off.
Primary Responsibilities:
Designing and developing next generation RF and digital satellite communication systems
Developing and verifying multi-rate fixed-point signal processing algorithms
Conducting performance analysis of signal processing models
Performing waveform development and characterization
Performing trade studies
Supporting integration ant test of our payloads and spacecraft from unit level through in-orbit operations
Supporting HDL-level design and verification
Performing detailed system design and verification activities
BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science
Education and/or experience in signal processing.
Associate Level: Bachelors degree and 2 years of experience or Masters degree
Experienced Level: Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience Masters degree and 3 years of experience or PhD degree
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience working with ASICs or FPGAs
Experience with performance characteristics of analog electronics or data converters (ADCs / DACs)
Experience with digital/RF lab equipment (oscilloscope signal generator spectrum analyzer)
1 years of experience with Matlab and/or Simulink
3 years of experience in digital signal processing or digital communications
1 years of experience in systems engineering concepts (requirements definition allocation verification architecture design and trade design)
