QUALIFICATIONS:
- Massachusetts certified in English grades 9-12
- Experience teaching the MA Frameworks
- Ability to teach a wide range of ELA courses
- Ability to work positively with Department members to develop and sustain a strong curriculum
- Previous teaching experience at the high school level desired
- Familiarity with educational technology and the ability to integrate technology in the classroom
- Knowledge of UDL preferred
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction
- Establishes and (as necessary) adjusts instructional goals and objectives to reflect district/school goals curriculum policies and the knowledge skills progress and needs of ones students.
- Designs lessons that provide opportunities for problem-solving creativity and communication skills in relation to authentic real world problems.
- Commits to on-going professional development in content area and pedagogy.
- Plans learning tasks to address individual differences among students.
- Develops administers and evaluates quality formative and summative assessments.
- Monitors and evaluates students progress.
- Encourages secures and maintains the involvement of parents and other community members in support of teaching and learning.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Effectively collaborates with department and grade level teachers.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Abides by state statutes School Committee policies and regulations.
- Attends meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
- Maintains accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulation.
- Serves on committees as assigned.
