What Youll Be Doing
As the Director of CIBCs Digital Banking API Development (eBanking) team you will lead a high-performing team of designers developers and application consultants responsible for developing and supporting CIBCs Online & Mobile middle-tier APIs. In this leader-of-leaders role you will provide technical leadership to ensure the successful design development and delivery of Digital Banking API services for CIBC and Simplii Financial. You will oversee collaboration with other development teams to define integration contracts and ensure seamless interaction between services aligning with business needs and technical standards. You will also ensure the security scalability and performance of Service APIsincluding Cloud Native services Akamai protection and API security scanswhile leveraging API management platforms to optimize API usage. This role demands maintaining a high standard of delivery efficiency in execution and strong documentation are seeking a highly technical leader with expertise in API development and integration who genuinely cares about the well-being and success of the team. You will foster a culture of innovation collaboration and continuous improvement while championing high-quality scalable and secure solutions that align with CIBCs digital priorities and enhance the client experience.

How Youll Succeed
Strong Leadership: Be a bold and authentic leader who is passionate about developing and coaching others to bring out their best. Technical Expertise: Leverage your extensive technical knowledge to influence architectural decisions implement strong security practices and foster innovation in the development of digital banking assets.
Delivery Focused: Work closely with internal partners to determine negotiate and manageprojects to the agreed upon timeline. Monitor financesidentify opportunities for improvement and recommend appropriate your leadershipimplementprojects in a timely fashion that are of high quality low cost and on budget.
Who You Are
You are a seasoned technical leader. You have 5 years of demonstrated experience in a leadership role with a focus ontechnical architecture application development and solutions design.
You have Technical Depth and Knowledge: You bring a strong technical background in API development and design as well as cloud-native services. You can guide architectural decisions and ensure the delivery of secure scalable solutions. A minimum of 10 years of hands-on Java development experience is required for this role.
Youre an experienced Leader of Leaders. You have experience leading large diverse teams including senior managers and technical specialists. You excel at developing leaders and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Youre a Strategic Thinker. You have a proven ability to align technology initiatives with business goals and drive long-term success.
