Mission: The Senior Quality Engineer will operate within a plastics packaging manufacturing environment.
This role involves: Designing and leading effective quality plans process control plans and process improvement projects.
Additionally provide training to enhance the capabilities of manufacturing team members and process leaders in using
statistical process control tools and problem-solving methods for continuous process and product improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership in Quality Processes:
Lead and direct Quality Technicians and Specialists in:
Developing implementing and administering process control plans for manufacturing
Conducting CA/PA investigations (preliminary investigations root cause analysis and customer communication)
Participating in prevention planning teams
New Product Development (NPD) Support:
Assist with product specification development and prevention planning (e.g. HACCP)
Lead statistical studies including DOE GR&R and measurement/test methods
Participate in design reviews
Training Development & Delivery:
Develop and deliver training for process leaders and team members on statistical tools for process measurement
problem-solving and process improvement
Provide training in systems thinking root cause corrective actions and prevention of non-conformances
Quality Auditing:
Develop and implement quality auditing and measurement systems
Supplier Quality Management:
Establish systems for monitoring the quality of sourced materials and supplier performance
Lead vendor audits when necessary
Data Leadership:
Collect and track data to support departmental metrics
Generate and communicate reports across manufacturing areas on a monthly basis
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelors degree in a technical discipline (e.g. Engineering Mechanical Electrical Industrial Technology or
Industrial Management) 5 years of experience in quality or process engineering roles within a manufacturing environment
Desired Skills
Certified Quality Engineer (preferred)
Experience in formal quality systems (ISO) Product Safety (SQF GMP) and conducting internal process audit
Plastics packaging experience (food and/or medical preferred)
Ability to direct others work activities
Proficiency in statistical tools for problem-solving process measurement and improvement
Familiarity with SPC hardware/software and statistical analysis
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to develop and deliver training to diverse groups
