Job Description

Title: Clinical Coordinator Nursing Programs

Employee Classification: PE

Pay Grade: PT 08

Division: Academic and Student Affairs

Campus Location: Main Campus

General Summary

Coordinates daily operations and student admissions of BSN programs. Assigns students to clinical sites and agencies for successful placement. Manages outreach and recruitment programs including updating recruitment and marketing materials. Maintains accreditation-related databases.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists Director in coordinating and managing BSN program needs admissions and database maintenance. Troubleshoots problems related to registration advising and related activities.
  • Using the information provided by the sites and agencies assigns students to appropriate clinical sites and nursing skills. Maintains and promotes collaborative communication. Troubleshoots and resolves problems related to clinical placements.
  • Provides advice and information regarding programs and events for students and alumni. Supports and assists in the planning developing and implementing of school program events.
  • Coordinates and manages outreach activities including but not limited to recruitment events at EMU and agencies.
  • Develops and/or updates recruitment and marketing materials.
  • Trains supervises and evaluates graduate student assistants assigned to assist in database management and college work study students assigned to related program functions.
  • Participates on assigned committees.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelors degree in a related field is required.

A minimum of two years of relevant experience in higher education and/or healthcare is required.

Experience working in a clinical environment or with clinical programs and/or partners is required.

An understanding of the educational experiences of student nurses an ability to use the vocabulary of nursing and an understanding of the clinical practice of nursing is required.

Ability to network and collaborate effectively with outside entities (e.g. clinical sites and EMU partners etc.) is required.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing is required.

Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional environment and ensure strict confidentiality is required.

Demonstrated ability to take initiative anticipate needs and obstacles and problem solve efficiently is required.

Demonstrated ability to use and navigate computers and software programs is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Clinical acquisition experience and/or nursing background is strongly preferred.

Knowledge of Board of Nursing requirements for clinical learning is preferred.

Familiarity with BSN curriculum and professional accreditation standards is preferred.

Program coordination in a higher educational setting is preferred.
