The Job You Will Perform:
Leads and directs daily activities of the converting department including productivity quality and service in a safe and efficient manner ensuring customer requirements and organization goals are achieved.
Responsibilities
- Ensures all work is performed in a safe clean productive environment. Promotes safety and housekeeping by following established safety rules and procedures.
- Enforcing product safety policies as well as reviewing and approving product safety records.
- Supervise employees in the daily production of corrugated board to include training; planning assigning and directing work;evaluating employee performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; promoting safety quality production and teamwork; resolving conflicts.
- Lead and motivate employees by setting an example of superior behavior attitude and performance to work efficiently and effectively while ensuring a safe work environment and a quality product.
- Improve and maintain department performance according to set objectives and established goals including safety quality waste reduction housekeeping and productivity.
- Review machine line-up and overall operations with outgoing supervisor at shift change; ensure compliance on quality checks; coordinate upkeep of machinery with Maintenance team to minimize downtime; and assist in troubleshooting machine problems
- Effectively communicate operational information in both oral and written format at all levels: crew members supervisors plant management office personnel customers and vendors.
- Actively promote and ensure compliance with safety quality and other programs and initiatives within the organization.
The Skills You Will Bring:
- Minimum of two years supervisory experience required.
- Knowledge of corrugated and finishing manufacturing processes.
- Strong participative leadership skills; effective planning organizational and problem-solving skills; proven supervisory skills.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct and facilitate effective meetings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills interpersonal skills and computer skills.
- Must exhibit a high regard for safe use and condition of equipment.
