The Job You Will Perform:

Leads and directs daily activities of the converting department including productivity quality and service in a safe and efficient manner ensuring customer requirements and organization goals are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all work is performed in a safe clean productive environment. Promotes safety and housekeeping by following established safety rules and procedures.
  • Enforcing product safety policies as well as reviewing and approving product safety records.
  • Supervise employees in the daily production of corrugated board to include training; planning assigning and directing work;evaluating employee performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; promoting safety quality production and teamwork; resolving conflicts.
  • Lead and motivate employees by setting an example of superior behavior attitude and performance to work efficiently and effectively while ensuring a safe work environment and a quality product.
  • Improve and maintain department performance according to set objectives and established goals including safety quality waste reduction housekeeping and productivity.
  • Review machine line-up and overall operations with outgoing supervisor at shift change; ensure compliance on quality checks; coordinate upkeep of machinery with Maintenance team to minimize downtime; and assist in troubleshooting machine problems
  • Effectively communicate operational information in both oral and written format at all levels: crew members supervisors plant management office personnel customers and vendors.
  • Actively promote and ensure compliance with safety quality and other programs and initiatives within the organization.

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience required.
  • Knowledge of corrugated and finishing manufacturing processes.
  • Strong participative leadership skills; effective planning organizational and problem-solving skills; proven supervisory skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and facilitate effective meetings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills interpersonal skills and computer skills.
