Description

In this role you will provide security support for special events in our VooDoo Lounge Nightclub. Schedule varies and pay is $20hr.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing service to Harrahs Voodoo guests by ensuring a safe and fun environment.

Job Description:

  1. Greets guests quickly and courteously using Total Service skills.
  2. Checks to make sure patron identification meets necessary age requirements for entry into Voodoo.
  3. Maintains communication with Supervisor or Manager regarding occupancy levels.
  4. Patrols Voodoo to preserve order among patrons and protect property.
  5. May circulate among patrons to prevent improper dancing or similar activities and to detect persons annoying other patrons or damaging furnishings of establishment.
  6. Warns patrons of infractions and contacts Security Dispatch if they become unruly.
  7. Must wand all patrons and inspect bags upon guests entering the VooDoo Lounge.
  8. May be required to perform Security Officer responsibilities in addition to above listed items.
  9. Identify intoxicated guest and have them removed
  10. Observe servers and bartenders for over serving of alcohol.
  11. Applies First Aid as deemed appropriate to employees and guests and provides immediate lifesaving medical care as necessary
Knowledge Skills & Education Preferred:

High school graduate or equivalent. Clean felony conviction status. Must be 21 years of age. Must posses a valid drivers license from their state of residence. Must present a well-groomed appearance. A background check will be conducted on all candidates before an offer is made.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Able to walk work and stand inside and outside occasionally in heat in excess of 115 degrees or cold in excess of 10 degrees.
  2. Able to physically restrain adults in excess of 200 pounds.
  3. Able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations.
  4. Able to work independently.
  5. Able to stoop bend jump twist crouch grip and carry heavy loads and maneuver quickly on level surfaces as well as up and down stairs.
  6. Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
  7. Must be able to push or pull up to 150 pounds.
  8. Able to respond to visual and aural cues.
  9. Able to speak read and understand English.
  10. Able to see and also remember the specific details of incidents and persons.
  11. Must be able to make rational decisions when handling guests and employees.
  12. Ability to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke.
  • Must be able to lift above the head occasionally.

Licensing and Certification Required:

Employees may be required to obtain a Missouri Gaming Commission license. The initial license is paid for by the employee. All subsequent renewals for the license are paid by Harrahs North Kansas City.
