Job Description

Blue Ridge Unified School District No. 32

FLSA-Non-Exempt hourly position

TITLE: Transition Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or High School education preferred. Teacher certification is ideal.
  • Up to one year experience working with students preferred.
  • Possess a strong interest in helping students succeed.
  • Some experience with computers required.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students and co-workers.

REPORTS TO: Principal

JOB GOAL: To assist students in achieving success in completing computer-directed courses so that they may complete their High School course work.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists students with their lessons proving one-on-one consultation.
  • Checks to assure that all computers are functioning properly. May do some minor adjustments or repairs.
  • Is available to participate in scheduled night classes.
  • Assists teacher in evaluation and selection of computer programs appropriate to the classes.
  • Assures that the classroom is kept clean and orderly.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Ten months. Salary established by the Governing Board. Employee benefits in accordance with district policies.
