Position Title Manager Education & Inclusion

Summary
The Manager of Education & Inclusion supports the education and disability services within a program guiding the curriculum and program planning policy development and training. You will provide early childhood technical and management support to the Head Start and Early Head Start programs to ensure effective coordination implementation and monitoring of the education services. Under the supervision of the Program Director and working as the supervisor of early childhood staff (i.e. Early Childhood & Development Coaches if applicable) you will oversee the implementation of the education services at all sites and works with all local educational agencies (LEAs) and other partners and will ensure proper implementation of the curriculum to support the unique needs of each child and provides educational resources for staff and parents and will work with the Manager of Parent Family and Community Engagement (PFCE) to coordinate appropriate placement of children in the classroom.
The mental health and disability content area is an integral part of the larger system of services provided by Head Start and/or Early Head Start. You will be responsible for overseeing the mental health and disability portion of the Head Start Program Performance Standards and regulations as well as other state and federal requirements as they relate to ADA. You will provide training and technical assistance to the Head Start and/or Early Head Start staff to ensure high-quality programming monitoring child and teacher progress and performance to ensure they are achieving program objectives. You will consult with the Program Director and education staff to resolve complex issues and ensure compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and regulations.

Required Qualifications
Physical Requirements related to essential functions: Ability to perform medium to heavy physical work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 5-10 pounds constantly performing such activities as sitting crawling stooping kneeling crouching reaching standing walking pushing pulling lifting and grasping. This also includes some duties that require repetitive action and motion skills keyboarding and computer use.
Clear pre-employment background check requirements including local state and national criminal records check sex offender registries employment and education verifications (including child abuse registry check if required by state regulations) and pass all state and local health requirements required post job offer and prior to employment.
This position may require the incumbent to operate a motor vehicle to fulfill certain job functions. The incumbent should maintain a valid drivers license and remain in compliance with any Save the Children policies pertaining to the safe operation of motor vehicles.
Current and former Head Start/Early Head Start parents will receive preference for employment vacancies for which they are qualified.
