Job Description
Summary
Great Southern Wood Preserving Inc. makers of Yellawood brand Pressure Treated Pine is seeking a 2nd shift Shipping and Receiving Clerk. This position will be responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments as well as preparing items for shipment. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and a full benefits package.
Essential Duties:
- Compares identifying information and counts weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading invoices orders or other records.
- Examines incoming shipments rejects damaged items records shortages and corresponds with shippers to rectify damages and shortages.
- Responsible for placing identifying information on the material upon arrival at the plant site.
- Routes items to inventory.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- May operate industrial lift truck or uses tractor truck to move convey or hoist shipments to storage or work area.
- Maintains traffic flow through the white yard and assists in staging shipments for outbound loads.
- Assists in stacking lumber or moving products by hand as needed.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
