Job Title: Lead UX Designer
Reports To: Manager Shared Sevices & Bearing Digital
Role Type: Individual Contributor
Location: Bangalore
Role Purpose:
The Lead UX Designer is responsible for leading the UX design process across multiple projects and ensuring a consistent high-quality user experience across our digital product portfolio. This role involves driving user research developing design strategies creating user-centered designs and collaborating closely with product owners developers and other stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet both user needs and business objectives. The Lead UX Designer also mentors other UX designers and promotes UX best practices within the organization.
Key responsibilities and day to day tasks
- UX Strategy and Vision:
- Develop and champion the UX vision for our digital products aligning it with overall business goals and user needs.
- Establish and maintain UX design standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all products including alignment with the wider brand.
- Drive user-centered design thinking and methodologies throughout the product development lifecycle.
- User Research and Insights:
- Plan conduct and analyze user research to gather insights into user behavior needs and pain points.
- Translate user research findings into actionable design recommendations and user stories.
- Advocate for user needs and ensure that user feedback is incorporated into the design process.
- Drive initiatives and discussions related to design with users and stakeholders.
- Interaction Design and Prototyping:
- Design intuitive and engaging user interfaces and interactions for web and mobile applications demonstrating a strong understanding of UI design principles.
- Create wireframes prototypes and user flows to effectively communicate design concepts.
- Utilize user testing to validate design decisions and iterate on designs based on user feedback.
- Collaboration and Leadership:
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners Product Managers developers and other designers within a product team to define product requirements and design solutions.
- Lead and mentor other UX designers providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality design deliverables.
- Facilitate design workshops and brainstorming sessions to generate innovative design ideas.
- Proven experience working within a product team as well as with other designers.
- Design System and Accessibility:
- Contribute to the development maintenance and consumption of a design system to ensure consistency and efficiency in the design process.
- Ensure that designs are accessible to users with disabilities adhering to accessibility guidelines and best practices.
- Promote awareness of accessibility and inclusive design principles within the team.
- Agile and DevOps:
- Effectively manage design tasks and deliverables within an agile development environment demonstrating a design thinking mindset.
- Experience using Azure DevOps or similar tools for project management and collaboration.
- Work with an Agile and Designers mindset

- Reports to the Product development Manager.
- Works closely with fellow UX designers Product Owners and Product Managers to align design with product strategy.
- Collaborates with developers to ensure technical feasibility and implementation of designs.
- Mentors and guides other UX designers.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong portfolio showcasing UI design skills and user-centered design processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Figma for UI design and prototyping.
- Experience in conducting various types of user research.
- Experience working in an agile organization.
Nice to have:
- Experience working with a European company.
- Understanding of mechanical engineering.
