Job Description
The Role
Ventia are seeking a Chef to join our Defence Base Services contract on a casual basis. Reporting to the Head Chef this position will see you based between Irwin Barracks in Karrakatta and Campbell Barracks in Swanbourne. In this role you support the kitchen operations and food service to deliver great customer service to Australian Defence personnel.
To be considered for this position you must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undergo a police check.
Key duties but not limited to:
Support the Sous Chef in management of the overall preparation & delivery of meal services
Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills deep-fat fryers & barbeques
Ensure menu variations allergen and religious requirements are followed
Participate in regular stocktake and inventory control
Ensure all areas of the kitchen are clean sanitised well-maintained and presentable
Maintain noticeboards ensuring material is accurate and relevant
Requirements:
Commercial Cookery qualification
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Level 2 certification Highly regarded
Experience managing large commercial kitchens
