Position Summary
The Technology Department at Bethel School District 52 is seeking a highly motivated Student Information Systems Data Analyst to join our Student Information Services team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with student information systems like Synergy SIS (preferably) or PowerSchool and proficiency in Power BI for data visualization and reporting. The analyst will be responsible for supporting maintaining and optimizing the student information systems developing reports and ensuring data integrity across platforms to support educational outcomes and district operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical resource for Student Information System (SIS) including system configuration data migration establish and maintain data entry standards and user support.
- Design build and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI to support decision-making processes and ensure that Bethel School District is in compliance with local state and federal reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with district administrators educators and support staff to gather requirements develop and deliver dashboards custom reports and data visualizations and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues related to student data system performance and reporting across the district.
- Provide user training and technical support to school staff administrators and district personnel on SIS functionalities and Power BI tools.
- Ensure data integrity security and compliance with local state and federal reporting requirements including student enrollment attendance and performance data.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement system upgrades patches and new functionalities.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system processes reporting standards and user guides.
- Participate in data audits quality control measures and data validation processes.
- Act as a liaison between the Student Information Services team and other departments to ensure effective data sharing and integration.
- Train district personnel on SIS functionalities best practices and data reporting procedures.
- Must follow Federal and state regulations and district policies regarding access to use of and release confidential student information and data security.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems Computer Science Education Technology or related field.
- 3 years of experience working with student information systems (preferably Synergy SIS).
- Proficiency in creating reports and dashboards in Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
- Proficiency in database management systems SQL for querying databases and experience in data migrations.
- Strong understanding of data governance security and privacy standards related to student information.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills to support educational and operational decision-making based on data.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain regular predictable and prompt attendance.
Preferred
- Experience in K-12 education systems.
- Experience with Student Information Systems like Synergy or Powerschool API integration data extraction and migration.
- Knowledge of FERPA regulations and other student data privacy laws.

Calendar: 260-day 12-month position
Employment Type: Full-Time FLSA Exempt
Salary: $73374 - $94188 depending on education and experience
