Job Description:

The Department of Recreational Sports is currently looking for an Esports Intern to join our energetic team and move Gators towards lifelong wellbeing! The Esports Intern willl create organize and manage all virtual and in-person Esport events throughout the semester and closely collaborate with the Reitz Student Union. The intern will work to build community within and promote the league through email and the RecSports Esports Discord.

This position will require up to 20 hours/week and serve as a practicum/part-time intern for a Fall 2025 start.

  • Develop professional relationships with co-workers participants and guests.
  • Uphold and exceed the expectations of the Cornerstones of RecSports Service: accountability anticipating needs attitude and atmosphere.
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn and apply knowledge as a RecSports ambassador.
  • Take ownership of RecSports facilities and programs by exhibiting a responsible work ethic.
  • Promote and maintain cleanliness and appearance within and surrounding RecSports facilities.
  • Enforce RecSports policies and procedures to promote participant safety and satisfaction.
  • Respond to all emergency situations and adhere to established protocol including pre- and post- incident procedures.
  • All RecSports employees are expected to abide by the RecSports Student Staff Code of Conduct that clarifies shared expectations and standards in effort to best serve our patrons develop each team member and prepare student employees for future career endeavors.

Unit Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Planning and preparation for Spring 2025 Esports such as; Esports offered registration process Esports calendar creating leagues and divisions and other duties related to running Esport leagues
  • Assisting Esport participants via email and Discord chat
  • Planning and preparation of elements for Esport championships such as; plan for broadcast/live stream communication with participants set up of event marketing of event to participants
  • Processing forfeits defaults score corrections and other aspects relating to Esport leagues
  • Creating organizing and managing all in-person Esport events during Spring 2025 semester and closely collaborating with the Reitz Student Union
  • Other duties as assigned
Expected Salary:

$13.75/hour

Minimum Requirements:

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis up to 20 hours per week.

  • Interest in Esports recreation fitness and campus involvement
  • Availability to work nights and weekend hours
  • Availability to work three permanent shifts at minimum each week
  • Complete and maintain UF online certifications in GET803 OOC101 PRV802 ITT102 GET811
