Job Description

The Treasury Manager is a key member of the Debt and Treasury team at Boston University and works closely with staff from Budget Business Affairs Student Accounts Research and General Accounting and other areas across the organization.

Major duties of this position include:

  • Tracking forecasting and analyzing University cash flows for short-term and long-range planning.
  • Provide oversight of Treasury operations including daily cash position analysis.
  • Provide analytical support in areas relating to debt and Treasury.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies in University cash banking and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with University departments to provide advice related to banking services/cash movements and the preparation of management reports.
  • Lead Treasury related system improvements and integration with other University systems as appropriate.
  • Lead financial analysis and reporting in areas relating to cash management and forecasting and perform other financial analysis as needed both individually and as part of a team.
  • Establish and maintain procedures to monitor and manage bank and investment accounts including user access and key banking contacts for each institution.
  • Review and reconcile daily cash and investment account activity.
  • Analyze banking services structure and fees paid making recommendations and implementing cost-saving strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with written policies and procedures regarding cash operations.
  • Provide oversight training coaching and development opportunities for a Treasury Analyst.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics Business or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of Finance Treasury and Cash Management experience
  • Advanced skills utilizing Excel including complex formulas in order to acquire organize and analyze data. Experience in other data management and reporting tools is a plus.
  • Experienced in analyzing data to determine relevant conclusions and suggest appropriate actions to management.
  • Proven track record to multi-task and prioritize routine tasks and ad-hoc requests in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented demonstrating accuracy and quality of work output.
  • Ability to work optimally and collaboratively in a small collegial team environment.
  • Self-motivated proactive intellectually curious.

Preferred Skills:

  • CTP qualification and higher education experience
  • Experience with TMS implementations
  • Experience with ERP/SAP
