The Team

Across our work in Science Education and within our communities we pair technology with grantmaking impact investing and collaboration to help accelerate the pace of progress toward our mission. Our Operations organization provides the support needed to push this work forward.

Operations consists of our Brand & Communications Central Tech Finance People Real Estate/Workplace/Events/Facilities/Security (REWFS) Strategy & Operations and Ventures teams. These teams provide the essential operations services and strategies needed to support CZIs progress toward achieving its mission to build a better future for everyone.

The Opportunity

The Recruiting team plays a critical role in advancing that mission by identifying attracting and hiring exceptional mission-aligned this role youll lead full-cycle recruiting efforts across Operations teams. Youll partner with leaders at every level from emerging talent to executive search to ensure we hire individuals who bring both immediate impact and long-term potential.

As a senior member of our small but mighty team youll operate at both a strategic and hands-on level crafting hiring strategies navigating complex and competitive talent markets and delivering best-in-class candidate and partner experiences. Youll also have the opportunity to shape and scale our early-career talent programs.

This is a hybrid position: team members are expected to work from our office in Redwood City CA 60% of the working month (about 3 days per week).

What Youll Do

  • Lead Full-Cycle Recruitment: Own and execute the full recruiting lifecycleincluding sourcing screening advising and negotiatingfor complex and high-stakes roles across multiple departments
  • Strategic Sourcing: Proactively identify and engage top-tier talent through a blend of sourcing channels including job boards professional networks referrals and strategic partnerships with academic institutions
  • Build and Optimize Talent Pipelines: Craft and evolve sourcing strategies to attract top-tier talent across sectors like academia life sciences and business operations
  • Drive Stakeholder Alignment: Partner deeply with senior leaders and cross-functional collaborators to assess business priorities and design tailored recruiting approaches
  • Champion Candidate Experience: Implement structured human-centered hiring processes that ensure clarity inclusivity and a seamless experience across every touchpoint
  • Leverage Data for Strategic Decisions: Use analytics to identify hiring trends improve process performance and influence talent strategy across the organization
  • Emerging Talent & Academic Program Development: Build scalable internship fellowship and rotational programs that align with organizational goals and academic pipelines

What Youll Bring

  • 8 years of full-cycle recruiting experience with a strong focus on strategic and specialized hiring across G&A and Business functions (e.g. People Legal Finance Operations)
  • Proven ability to manage complex hiring initiatives with multiple stakeholders competing priorities and evolving needs
  • Experience designing and managing early/emerging career or academic-to-industry talent programs
  • Skilled in identifying engaging and closing top-tier talent across a wide range of disciplines and career levels
  • Data-savvy approach to recruiting; comfortable using metrics to inform decisions and influence change
  • Expertise with ATS and sourcing tools such as Workday Greenhouse LinkedIn Recruiter and SeekOut
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels
  • Demonstrated excellent project management capabilities effectively balancing a heavy requisition load and the tasks required to meet offer-out dates

Compensation

The Redwood City CA base pay range for this role is $153000 - $230000. New hires are typically hired into the lower portion of the range enabling employee growth in the range over time. Actual placement in range is based on job-related skills and experience as evaluated throughout the interview process.
