POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for taking an active improvement role on a day-to-day basis including but not limited to:
- Promotes health safety and environmental regulations by ensuring that standards policies and procedures are adhered to in compliance with corporate federal state and local requirements.
- Promotes the quality system through adhering to the elements of and being familiar with the philosophy quality statement quality manual and procedures.
- Maintains a safe working environment for all employees by:
- Following and enforcing all safety rules and procedures
- Maintaining a clean facility
- Coordinating pre-shift safety meetings.
- Documentation of all training (Environmental health safety quality production etc.) is the responsibility of the supervisor for the employees under their care and control.
- Ensuring that the daily production data is collected accurately on all machines.
- Understanding what the top reasons for lost time lost output and poor quality are and taking appropriate corrective action.
- Providing information at the daily production meetings regarding the current line status including issues causes and preventative techniques used to prevent further issues.
- Taking specific preventative actions ensuring that permanent fixes are put in place for these reasons.
- Properly and thoroughly communicating all of the above information to the following shift supervisor.
- Learning how to operate all line equipment.
- Operating line equipment during breaks.
- Consistently meeting all production and quality goals.
- Ability to work either 8 or 12-hour shifts 4 to 7 days per week.
- Must be available via phone for 24/7 plant support.
Manages the shift on a day-to-day basis to ensure the following issues are planned:
- Addresses absenteeism including vacation planning by scheduling manpower as needed to fulfil customer demand.
- Production paperwork.
- Liaising with QC/QA and sharing appropriate information to ensure department goals are met.
- Trains motivates and supervises production operators to ensure Finished Goods met product specifications and that proper records are maintained.
- Promotes the current quality system through adhering to the elements of and being familiar with the philosophy quality statement quality manual and procedures.
- Hourly attendance reporting and scheduling.
- Production documentation.
- Performs other duties as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- PowerPoint experience a plus.
- Associates or Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience in a production environment preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The Production Supervisor will be located at theHazleton PA facility.
- Work environment varies from an office setting to periodic exposure to the typical elements in the manufacturing facilities (i.e. dust moderate noise close proximity to semi-automated manufacturing equipment and hot and cold climates.)
- Must be able to work around hot asphalt tanks lines and pumps on an intermittent basis.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing 8 12 hours a day.
- Lifting up to 60 lbs.; lifting up to 120 lbs.
- Ability to climb stairs often and ladders periodically.
- Ability to work shift work.
- Visual Acuity (including color perception).
- Good Hearing.
