The Summer School Counselor will assist the summer school administrative team in the implementation of the high school program. The Summer School Counselor will also provide academic guidance and social/emotional support to students during the summer school programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist with registering students for summer classes.
Assist with student scheduling during the course of the summer school program.
Provide and obtain student information from the base school as needed.
Provide social and emotional support to students as needed.
Monitor students grades and attendance; follow-up with students and families as necessary.
Consult and collaborate with teachers parents and administrators on a regular basis in order to develop strategies to help students be successful in summer school.
Complete TAs and SHRAs at secondary summer school locations and elementary Power Scholars programs (as available).
Provide support to families as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Masters degree in guidance counseling required.
Candidate must possess or be eligible for a Virginia Teachers license in School Counseling Prek-12.
