Head of Publicity Transworld

We have an exciting opportunity for a creative and strategic Head of Publicity to join our multi- award-winning Publicity team taking the lead on creating impactful campaigns across theentire list. This is a new role which reports to the Deputy Publicity Director and is an opportunity toreally make your mark alongside innovative and energetic colleagues.

In the last year the publicity team have delivered unmissable sales-driving and award-shortlisted campaigns for writers including Kate Atkinson Terry Deary debut novelist Lottie Hazell James Holland and Al Murray Ruth Jones Rachel Joyce Hallie Rubenhold and Jacqueline Wilson.

The role

The Head of Publicity will work across all of the Transworld imprints designing and leading high-profile and innovative publicity campaigns that create visibility and connect with audiences to drive discovery and sales. You will represent a strong voice in the division and will need to establish yourself as a trusted expert for colleagues and contacts both within and outside the organisation. You will build strong working relationships with authors and agents to provide the highest-level of author care.

Key responsibilities:

  • Independently create and deliver high-impact innovative and strategic media and events campaigns for a wide range of fiction and non-fiction titles across our imprints from launching new voices to promoting established writers.
  • Ensure best practice and the highest standards in campaign planning and execution.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with high-profile and influential stakeholders such as authors literary agents journalists events producers and global publishing partners.
  • Author crisis management where appropriate including scenario planning and reactive communications.
  • Mentor and develop talent in the publicity team.
  • Communicate promotional activity in-house; support strong communication between internal departments such as campaigns editorial sales rights and international colleagues.
  • Campaign analysis to measure effectiveness and implement learnings in future campaigns

What youll bring

Essential criteria:

  • A proven track record of delivering standout and successful book publicity campaignsto reach target audiences and drive book sales.
  • A high-level networker across the publishing industry and the media you will understand what moves the dial and be proactive in finding new promotional opportunities for our books and authors.
  • A rich bank of established media contacts and relationships.
  • Be confident writing engaging press materials and organising large scale events.
  • An excellent communicator both written and in person and be confident pitching and presenting internally and externally.
  • Strong personal organisation and time management skills the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
  • Be a strong influencer with excellent powers of persuasion.

Salary

Circa 50000 - 55000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role plus bonus and benefits.
