Job Description
Do you want to make a delicious difference
As a Junior Metabolic Strain Engineer you will apply hands-on strain engineering to improved product properties and yields of our ChoViva Butter as well as future fats and fat-derived ingredients.
A Taste of What to Expect
- Design and execute your own experiments in a lean results-driven way applying full DBTL cycles with a strong hands-on presence in the wet lab
- Generate collect analyze and interpret experimental and literature data in a coherent and structured manner
- Closely coordinate with the Strain Engineering team and the broader Fats & Oils R&D team to align on goals timelines and responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and expansion of our in-house structural biology capabilities to support the creation of tailored product compositions
- Ensure reliable documentation of procedures and results as well as organized and secure data storage
- Support the daily operations of the lab by contributing to shared responsibilities
The Perfect Recipe of Skills & Experience
- You have a Masters degree in molecular biology biotechnology or biochemistry or related fields
- You have a strong passion for wet lab work and applied research ideally paired with experience with genetic manipulation of yeasts or fungi
- You thrive on tackling ambitious challenges and in working in a fast-paced ever-evolving startup environment
- Ability and willingness to work independently while coordinating with and contributing to a collaborative team
- Hands-on background in structural biology and mechanistic enzymology is preferred
- You bring hands-on experience in core molecular biology techniques including PCR and DNA cloning strain construction and cultivation and sterile working techniques
