About the role

The Head of Market Access & Public Affairs is responsible to develop and implement UCB access and pricing strategies managing and mentoring both the Market Access and the Public Affairs team. This person is driving strategic access initiatives the local HTA process and ensuring the successful price negotiations of all relevant UCB products in the local pricing process. This involves aligning strategic goals with business objectives optimizing contracting with healthcare providers and managing stakeholder relationships across both functions. The position of the Head of Market Access & Public Affairs is related to a high volume of travelling with 50-70%.

Who you will work with

You provide a holistic approach for solutions serving patients health care professionals and payers. You arepart of the German Leadership Team and report to the General Manager Germany. This role requires an intensive cross-functional collaboration with Business Teams incl. Medical and Commercial Teams R&D Legal Talent and I2I on local EU and global level.

What youll do

  • Access & Pricing: Lead define and implement the local access and pricing strategy for all existing and coming UCB assets in close collaboration with the local business the global and regional access pricing and asset teams following corporate guidance
  • External Stakeholder Engagement: Engage in strong long-term relationships with payers pharmacists physician and patient association and healthcare governmental institutions on local regional and national levels.
  • Internal Stakeholder Engagement: Closely collaborate with local cross-functional business teams on Leadership and Asset level to align pricing and business strategy in order to achieve the companys long-term goals.
  • Portfolio development: Actively contribute to UCBs portfolio development by providing insights from local market pricing HTA requirement to the R&D team in close collaboration with the local business teams.
  • Performance Metrics & KPIs: Define and monitor performance and outcome indicators to assess the impact of pricing strategy especially in hospital and payer settings ensuring they deliver value and meet strategic objectives while meeting high ethical standards
  • Budget & Resource Management: Manage access and pricing budgets and ensure efficient allocation of resources for both people and projects.

Interested For this role were looking for the following education experience and skills:

  • Experience:Minimum of 5 years in a (senior) leadership position in Market Access/ Pricing in healthcare industry preferrable pharmaceutical or biotech
  • Negotiation skills:advanced negotiation skills with a proven track record of leading successful AMNOG/GBA negotiations and GKV-SV price negotiations (GAP negotiation training is a plus)
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and develop diverse teams inspire performance foster a winning mindset and manage cross-functional team dynamics in times of change
  • Strategic Planning: Strong skills in setting short-term and long-term goals aligning transformation initiatives with business objectives and anticipating future trends in an economical and political environment
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of market and economic trends business dynamics and how different functions contribute to overall success.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong skills in engaging with external and internal stakeholders such as healthcare payer and political sectors business teams and senior leadership ensuring that objectives are aligned and expectations are met.
  • Communication: Professional fluency in German and English
