Senior Intelligence Analyst

  • $133944.00 per annum 11.5% superannuation
  • Full time ongoing opportunity
  • Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung / Melbourne CBD based role (hybrid 3 days in office)

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Principal Intelligence Analyst Health and Safety the Senior Intelligence Analyst will assist with the implementation of an intelligence capability for the effective collection analysis and dissemination of information and intelligence.

The Senior Intelligence Analyst will apply expertise and provide actionable recommendations to drive strategic decision making and operation efficiency through a variety of tasks from tactical intelligence functions to strategic reporting on threats and challenges to WorkSafe Victoria. With a strong understanding of intelligence this position is required to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders and will play a key role in mentoring new intelligence analysts providing insight and advice on critical thinking and intelligence processes.

Key accountabilities

  • Coordinate and maintain a high level awareness of the regulatory operating environment within an area of expertise to identify priorities including new and emerging threats and fraudulent and criminal activity within the regulatory landscape.
  • Contribute to intelligence methodologies and structured analytical techniques manage sound defensible intelligence assessments and a range of high-quality intelligence products that inform decision making by internal stakeholders.
  • Accountable for advanced data interrogation research capabilities and threat assessment methodologies to assess threats including the use of information technology to undertake analysis.
  • Provide collection analysis and production to inform against WorkSafe Victorias priorities and preventative programs.
  • Build capability within a team environment to capture insights from intelligence operations and investigations and participate in intelligence collection activities and processes.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of relevant statutory regulatory and policy frameworks for intelligence within a regulatory environment.
  • Manage inter-disciplinary and inter-agency liaison to maintain productive networks and to promote information sharing partnerships and common understanding of regulatory harms.
  • Using high-level critical thinking and communication skills (verbal written and visual) to communicate intelligence assessments and analysis to operational teams and other stakeholders.

About you

You are an experienced Intelligence professional with extensive knowledge of intelligence processes methodologies and tradecraft. You will use your strong liaison interpersonal and negotiation skills to influence change while developing and maintaining productive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
