Primary Purpose:
The High School Principal serves as the instructional and administrative leader of Bloomington High School (Grades 912). This role is critical in setting the tone for academic excellence student development and staff collaboration. The Principal is responsible for leading a high-performing team of educators fostering a culture of high expectations and partnering with families and the community to ensure every student is prepared for post-secondary success.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Leadership:
- Provide visionary leadership for curriculum planning instructional improvement and assessment practices aligned with district and state expectations.
- Monitor and support the implementation of effective instructional strategies that meet the diverse needs of all learners.
- Ensure the use of data-driven decision-making to drive student achievement.
School Culture and Climate:
- Cultivate a safe positive and inclusive school environment that reflects high expectations for behavior and academic success.
- Promote a student-centered culture that values academic achievement extracurricular involvement and community pride.
- Foster strong relationships with students staff parents and community stakeholders.
Staff Management and Development:
- Recruit mentor evaluate and retain high-quality teachers and staff.
- Implement effective professional development aligned to campus and district goals.
- Conduct fair and consistent staff evaluations and provide actionable feedback for growth.
Operations and Compliance:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the high school including budgeting scheduling facility management and safety.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal accountability requirements including TEA standards and graduation requirements.
- Collaborate with central office leadership on district-wide initiatives and reporting.
Student Support and Extracurricular Programs:
- Support and supervise student services including special education career and technical education 504 RTI and counseling.
- Champion student participation in athletics FFA fine arts and other extracurricular programs.
- Ensure equitable access and support for all student populations.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Masters degree in Educational Leadership or related field
- Texas Principal Certification (or in the process of obtaining)
- T-TESS Certified Appraiser (preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of successful classroom teaching
- Minimum of 2 years in campus or district-level leadership roles
- Experience in a rural or small school district setting is preferred
