Position: Full-Time Behavior/Inclusion Special Education Teaching Assistant

Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Demonstrate aptitude for the work to be performed in an environment of high expectations and with special needs learners
- Experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral and/or special education needs is strongly preferred
- Ability to remain calm and patient in high-stress situations

Job Expectations:
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently accurately and in a timely manner and without constant supervision
- Provide direct support to students with behavioral challenges in both general education and special education settings
- Demonstrate flexibility confidentiality and professionalism
- Promote a positive learning environment for students while maintaining discipline when needed
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and strategies as outlined by special education staff and IEP teams.
- Accept tasks and responsibilities willingly and pleasantly from both teachers and/or case managers
- Maintain above average attendance including attendance to necessary in-service and staff trainings/meetings
- Monitor document and report student progress toward IEP goals and behavioral objectives
- Use de-escalation techniques and provide crisis intervention as needed (training provided)
