The role
As a Senior Project Manager youll have a role thats out of the ordinary. You will be a senior manager in the Project Management Office (PMO) within our ISTAR & Cyber business area youll be responsible for leading a team of project management and support staff delivering a portfolio of tasks and projects across government contracts.
Day-to-day youll provide operational management of our project teams youll be responsible for the timely and cost-effective delivery of products and services to our customers.
- Youll provide end-to-end delivery of complex projects throughout the project lifecycle. Responsible for supporting customers from early requirements capture right through to delivery and handover.
- Youll apply strong project management skills and methodologies to ensure consistency quality accountability and high standards across the PMO and youll regularly present project performance to seniors and directors.
- Youll apply appropriate and scalable project controls to all areas of your projects including risk financial change and stakeholder management in-line with Babcock and APM methodologies.
- Providing overall operational and strategic management of the PMO youll be responsible for personnel management of staff workload balancing and supporting with recruitment.
This role is full time 37 hours per week and is based on site at Ashchurch near Teweskbury. Glos.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential experience of the Senior Project Manager
- Extensive experience in Project Management.
- Experience working on complex engineering projects preferred.
- Defence and security experience is highly desirable.
Qualifications for the Senior Project Manager
- APM Project Professional Qualification (SCQF Level 9 PMQ PRINCE2/Project Management Institute (PMI) or equivalents.
- Current valid DV Security clearance.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who holds current valid DV clearance and is able to achieve and maintain Enhanced Developed Vetting (EDV) security clearance for this role.
