Description

This position is available through the University of Albertas Teacher Education North program with instruction delivered on-site at Northwestern Polytechnics Grande Prairie campus. This position is part-time and has an initial appointment of 4 months. The salary will be commensurate with experience in accordance with theAcademic Teaching Staff Agreement.

Location -This role is in-person. Work primarily takes place at Grande Prairie Alberta.

Position

The Faculty of Education invites applications for a part-time Academic Teaching Staff to teach the following course in the Fall 2025 term. This course is part of the Teacher Education North program located in Grande Prairie Alberta.

EDPY 303 - Educational Assessment

This course will introduce students to the complexity of classroom assessment as a means of supporting and measuring student learning. The intent of this course is to develop an understanding of important concepts and issues in the evaluation of a learners knowledge and skills and to develop competence in constructing instruments and processes to evaluate learner performance.



Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • The successful applicant will hold a Masters Degree (PhD preferred) in education with at least one graduate course in the specific curricular subject area or leadership experience in the subject area at the K-9 level in a school district.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the importance of practices to ensure access foster community connections and increase belonging.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A strong K-12 classroom teaching background and demonstrated teaching excellence.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate education courses including serving as a teaching assistant.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Familiarity and facility with online teaching platforms such as Moodle Canvas D2L etc.
