Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Trailer Fleet Maintenance and Repair Mechanic to join our operations team.

The ideal candidate will maintain and repair a fleet of over 100 53 ft Dry Van Trailers and oversee the maintenance and repair of a 15-unit fleet of Freightliner tractor role is vital to ensuring our equipment remains safe compliant and road-ready. Successful candidates will possess strong mechanical skills organizational abilities and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance and repairs.

Tasks

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on 100 53 ft Dry Van trailers.
  • Diagnose and repair issues related to brakes suspension lighting tires and structural components of trailers.
  • Manage and coordinate maintenance for a fleet of 15 Freightliner tractor trucks including diagnostics and vendor communications.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with DOT and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs for all maintenance activities.
  • Input maintenance transactions into company software for record-keeping and billing.
  • Monitor and order necessary parts and supplies.
  • Communicate repair schedules and updates with the fleet management team.
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure prompt and efficient service.
  • Provide support for emergency repairs and roadside breakdowns when needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in trailer maintenance and repair required.
  • Strong knowledge of tractor truck mechanical systems particularly Freightliner models.
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish proficiency strongly desired).
  • Basic computer skills; experience with maintenance software or digital systems is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of DOT regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid drivers license (CDL preferred but not required).
