Job Description
Location: I.S. 145 Joseph Pulitzer Magnet School of Innovation and Applied Learning
Address: 33-34 80th St Jackson Heights NY 11372
Program Dates: July 2nd August 8th 2025
- Lead the planning execution and daily operation of the summer program.
- Ensure the program aligns with organizational goals educational objectives and the needs of the school community.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between school administration program staff and families.
- Ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students and staff.
- Supervise and support a team of lead and assistant teachers enrichment specialists and support staff.
- Conduct daily check-ins team meetings and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
- Assist in onboarding and training of summer staff in coordination with senior leadership.
- Monitor classroom instruction enrichment activities and recreational periods.
- Ensure all activities are developmentally appropriate and meet safety standards.
- Manage student attendance behavior and incident reporting with follow-through on disciplinary policies.
- Maintain accurate records including schedules attendance incident reports and communication logs.
- Complete all required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
- Liaise with external partners and vendors as needed.
Family & Community Engagement
- Communicate regularly with families regarding program updates student progress and events.
- Coordinate end-of-program celebrations and community-building events.
- Serve as a representative of the organization and school to promote a positive public image.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in education social work youth development or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role in youth programs or schools.
- Experience working with middle school-aged children.
- Strong communication conflict resolution and organizational skills.
