This role requires a blend of administrative expertise educational leadership and strong interpersonal Qualifications:Masters degree in Educational Leadership Administration or a related fieldValid Rhode Island certification for school principalMinimum of 10 years of teaching experience with at least 5 years in a leadership roleStrong understanding of curriculum development instructional strategies and assessment methodsExcellent communication organizational and problem-solving skillsMust be an employee in good standing including attendance professionalism and evaluationTerms and Conditions of Employment:220 day work year. Salary and benefits per contractKey Responsibilities:Provide purpose and direction for groups and individuals facilitating the development of a shared vision for the school and formulating goals and planning changes with the staff by setting priorities connected to the community the district staff and students. Instructional LeadershipLead the development implementation and evaluation of a rigorous curriculum aligned with district and state and support faculty and staff including hiring evaluation and professional data to inform instructional decisions and promote continuous school improvement efforts including a school Needs Assessment and complete a yearly School Improvement Plan that aligns with the Coventry Public Schools Strategic OperationsOversee scheduling school discipline attendance and support systems to promote responsible behavior and student the schools budget and allocate resources safety protocols and coordinate emergency preparedness compliance with federal state and local regulations policies and a collaborative and productive work environmentCreate an expectation of administrator presence at school events to supervise and support student SupportEstablish and enforce student behavior policies to maintain a safe and respectful school guidance and support services to address students academic and social-emotional as both a strategic leader and an enthusiastic advocate for extracurricular activities ensuring that every student has the opportunity to connect lead and grow beyond the EngagementCommunicate effectively and timely with parents guardians and community events and programs that promote family involvement and community as the public representative of the school addressing concerns and highlighting successes.* Any other assignment at the direction of the :Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the School Committees policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel.
