This Academic Advisor II will support the Office of Student Affairs and Admissions through recruitment academic advisement and support services aimed at all aspects of student success in the University of Louisville School of Dentistry (ULSD).
The Academic Advisor II will assist with admissions and recruitment as necessary. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Student Affairs the advisor will monitor academic performance provide academic counseling offer support services plan and provide accommodations for students with disabilities and coordinate workshops and events that promote a welcoming and considerate environment.
This position will guide and support student organizations in the School of Dentistry. They will maintain accountability and provide reports as requested. As part of the Student Affairs and Admissions Office they will help coordinate routine and special events such as interview days White Coat ceremonies graduations etc. This position is located at the University of Louisville Dental School at
501 South Preston Street Louisville KY 40202.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with recruitment academic counseling and processing and retention of ULSD students with emphasis on attracting a competent student body.
Monitor academic progress of ULSD students and intrusively intervene with targeted support.
Support the process of Interviewing selecting training and evaluating tutoring staff.
Coordinate with UofL DRC to develop and deliver academic accommodations to qualifying students.
Organizing ULSD exam proctoring for students with academic accommodations.
Collaborate with course faculty students and staff to plan and organize a proctoring schedule for students with testing accommodations and others retaking exams.
Develop and implement proactive academic and wellness workshops newsletters events etc. Work closely to support initiatives of UofL and HSC offices aimed at student success.
Provide support for ULSD RSOs. Assist RSOs with budget development and management.
Assist ULSD student council with budget oversight.
As directed by Assistant Dean and Assistant Director of Student Affairs prepare periodic reports.
Act as liaison with various committees to include the curriculum committee student progress and promotions committee academic achievement committee.
Assist with planning and organizing student affairs special events (orientation white coat ceremony graduation etc.) and other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in college student services admissions counseling etc.
Target Compensation Maximum:
$61200.00Target Compensation Minimum:
$40800.00Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
