As an MST-Psych Therapist youll be central to delivering evidence-based home and community-based therapy to young people and their families. Working with a small caseload of up to 4 families at a time youll provide support over a treatment period of 4 to 7 months with an average of 8 families per year.
Your therapeutic interventions will take place in the familys home and local community focusing on building positive family dynamics preventing out-of-home care and reducing crisis incidents. This includes:
You will be supported by a multidisciplinary team and receive regular supervision training and guidance from clinical supervisors and a Cultural Advisor to ensure your work is effective safe and culturally responsive.

MST is a well-researched community-based treatment model directed at youth involved in criminal activities and their families. MST-Psychiatric is an adaption of MST created to serve families with young people at risk of out-of-home placement due to serious behavioural problems and co-occurring mental health symptoms such as thought disorder bipolar affective disorder depression anxiety impulsivity and substance use/abuse.
