Join Otis in our exciting journey of innovation and change as we seek a talented Embedded Software Engineer to become part of our Engineering organization at the Lead Design Center (LDC) in Farmington Connecticut. This pivotal role involves developing software for elevator controls and edge devices as well as creating and maintaining essential tools. We are looking for a dynamic and innovative individual who is hardworking collaborative and self-motivated with a creative flair and vibrant energy. Youll be working within a small to medium-sized team to design develop and test state-of-the-art elevator software systems and other embedded devices contributing to the enhancement of our development and testing tools. This role reports to a Senior Manager of Software Engineering. If youre ready to make a significant impact this opportunity is perfect for you!

On a typical day you will:

• Be responsible for the design development testing and maintenance of embedded software for real-time elevator applications and interfaced embedded devices.

• Operate both independently and collaboratively within a matrixed team environment working alongside engineers across our global engineering centers.

What you will need to be successful:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Software Engineering or a related field

• Minimum 2 years of embedded work experience

• Proficiency in C C or equivalent programming languages (Python Java)

• Experience in developing software for embedded devices

• Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex software issues

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global team environment

• Ideally possess knowledge of CAN and serial communications

• Experience with state machines hardware abstraction layers memory management and serial communications is highly desirable

• Strong leadership skills with a passion for inspiring and guiding teams to success are preferred

• Familiarity with Matlab and Simulink is advantageous

• Experience with configuration management change management and test management tools is preferred

• A solid understanding of cybersecurity tools is desirable

• Knowledge of Scrum and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is preferred

• Proficiency in .NET Visual Studio and C# is desirable

• Familiarity with operating systems and their APIs/SDKs is a plus

The salary range for this role is $92000 - $ may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and the range may change in the future. Pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills seniority geographic location performance and business or organizational needs.
