Summary



Join the King County Road Services Division and Make a Difference.

We are looking for a highly organized and technically skilled professional to join our team bringing experience in handling Public Records Requests (PRRs) tracking legal and administrative data and providing comprehensive administrative support. This role is ideal for someone who excels at managing complex information with precision demonstrates strong technical writing and editing skills and ensures timely follow-up and accountability.Additional responsibilities include assisting with locating records supporting right-of-way (ROW) investigations and serving as a point of contact for employee vehicle accidents. The King County Road Services Division designs builds operates and maintains roads and bridges in unincorporated areas of King County in an efficient and environmentally responsible manner to protect the publics investment and facilitate safe travel. The division is committed to ensuring the countys transportation system is safe and efficient for all uses and modes of travel. The Division is responsible for 1500 miles of road and 182 bridges 5.7 million feet of drainage ditches over 44000 traffic control signs 78 traffic signals and 50 traffic cameras in unincorporated King County.


Job Duties

NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have a Valid Washington State Drivers License or the ability to obtain one prior to start date.

Experience Qualifications Knowledge Skills


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with GIS applications and maintenance management or electronic records systems.
  • Experience conducting fieldwork including locating markers for rights-of-way (ROW) taking photos compiling documentation and verifying claim related data.
  • Working knowledge of King County Road Design and Construction Standards KCC zoning code and WA State RCW.

INTERVIEW SCHEDULE:
Those applicants who pass the initial screening will be invited to participate in a15-minute phone interview the week of July 7th 2025.

If you are selectedto move forwardafter the phone interview you will be invited to participate in an in-person interview the week of July 14th 2025.

WORK SCHEDULE:
The work schedule will be Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30pm and will require some field work. Th
is position is Non-Exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standard Act and is eligible for overtime pay with prior supervisor approval.


EMERGENCY DESIGNATION STATUS:
Non-Mission Critical-Employees who staff county functions or services that may be delayed suspended or diverted in an emergency while essential functions are prioritized Mission Critical.

UNION MEMBERSHIP:

TELEWORKING:
This is a hybrid position. The work associated with this position will be performed through onsite work and occasional teleworking. The responsibilities of this position willinclude regular and ongoing in-office work.
