Summary
We are looking for a highly organized and technically skilled professional to join our team bringing experience in handling Public Records Requests (PRRs) tracking legal and administrative data and providing comprehensive administrative support. This role is ideal for someone who excels at managing complex information with precision demonstrates strong technical writing and editing skills and ensures timely follow-up and accountability.Additional responsibilities include assisting with locating records supporting right-of-way (ROW) investigations and serving as a point of contact for employee vehicle accidents. The King County Road Services Division designs builds operates and maintains roads and bridges in unincorporated areas of King County in an efficient and environmentally responsible manner to protect the publics investment and facilitate safe travel. The division is committed to ensuring the countys transportation system is safe and efficient for all uses and modes of travel. The Division is responsible for 1500 miles of road and 182 bridges 5.7 million feet of drainage ditches over 44000 traffic control signs 78 traffic signals and 50 traffic cameras in unincorporated King County.Job Duties
Experience Qualifications Knowledge Skills
- Experience handling Public Records Requests (PRRs) including routing deadline tracking and follow up.
- Experience developing and managing tracking systems for organizing and monitoring complex legal and administrative data.
- Demonstrated experience providing comprehensive administrative support.
- Possess exceptional technical writing skills.
- Experience drafting reviewing and editing official correspondence with a high degree of accuracy and clarity.
- Understanding of public property issues for use in drafting/researching and responding to claims for damages.
- Knowledge of Rights-of-way road usage and infrastructure.
- Ability to conduct field visits and safely operate a county vehicle.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a consistent focus on meeting deadlines and following up on assignments; ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates behaviors that include fairness respect and inclusiveness.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to diverse audiences in a clear meaningful way.
- Proficient in maintaining accurate documentation file management and thorough record keeping.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite products (Outlook Teams Excel Word and SharePoint) and with Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Experience with GIS applications and maintenance management or electronic records systems.
- Experience conducting fieldwork including locating markers for rights-of-way (ROW) taking photos compiling documentation and verifying claim related data.
- Working knowledge of King County Road Design and Construction Standards KCC zoning code and WA State RCW.

INTERVIEW SCHEDULE:
Those applicants who pass the initial screening will be invited to participate in a15-minute phone interview the week of July 7th 2025.
If you are selectedto move forwardafter the phone interview you will be invited to participate in an in-person interview the week of July 14th 2025.

WORK SCHEDULE:
The work schedule will be Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30pm and will require some field work. This position is Non-Exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standard Act and is eligible for overtime pay with prior supervisor approval.
EMERGENCY DESIGNATION STATUS:
Non-Mission Critical-Employees who staff county functions or services that may be delayed suspended or diverted in an emergency while essential functions are prioritized Mission Critical.
UNION MEMBERSHIP:

TELEWORKING:
This is a hybrid position. The work associated with this position will be performed through onsite work and occasional teleworking. The responsibilities of this position willinclude regular and ongoing in-office work.
