Job Description

This role Sr Manager Finance Oncology provides a unique opportunity to serve as a strategic financial partner to the Oncology organization with a strong focus on the Medical Affairs organization. This includes supporting the head of Oncology Medical Affairs by close partnership with her leadership team and the Oncology Medical Affairs teams.

This position will provide financial operational and strategic leadership support to the roles leadership teams in a complex and very dynamic environment to optimize budget allocation and maximize the value of the portfolio. He / She operates in a very matrix environment with multiple stakeholders across different finance and R&D groups. Through insightful understanding of the pharma business rigorous review and partnership with Medical Affairs Leaders the Sr Manager Finance is responsible for providing financial advice and guidance on key business decisions delivery of financial commitments and ensuring optimal deployment of capital.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides financial support for Oncology Medical Affairs. Responsibilities include:

  • Advise team and actively engage in investment decisions through understanding of the research and development strategies and cost drivers.
  • Develop accurate and timely financial forecasts provide detailed analysis and proactively identify and communicate issues.
  • Work closely with the Medical Affairs leaders especially Medical Strategy Management and Product Teams to provide business counsel and financial leadership on cost optimization initiatives as we seek to strike a balanced focus on strategic investments and cost efficiencies.
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of the financial statements and compliance with Pfizer policies and procedures maintain strong internal control environment.
  • Support Pfizer Oncology external collaborations by sitting on Joint Finance and Joint Medical Affairs Committee teams and providing the required financials.
  • Develop / maintain a strong partnership with other Pfizer R&D Finance Pfizer Commercial Finance and External Partner Finance colleagues to develop and share best practices across internal and collaboration programs.
  • Basic understanding of Oncology Portfolio to support successful Medical Affairs investments activities and resourcing.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree with 7 years in finance roles with successful experience as finance business partner.
  • Bachelors degree in finance accounting or related field required.
  • Knowledge of SAP and fluency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience should include budgeting forecasting planning and analysis for a global organization.
  • Knowledge of accounting and prior experience in monthly financial close activities.
  • Ability to communicate financial concepts to business leaders and successful experience operating in highly matrixed organizations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pharmaceutical finance experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguity and a dynamic fast paced environment and adapt accordingly.
  • MBA and/or CPA

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $120800.00 to $201400.00.* In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. * The annual base salary for this position in Tampa FL ranges from $108700.00 to $181100.00.
