Description

Summit County Governments Youth & Family Services Department is seeking a Communities That Care Coordinator (CTC) (20 hours/week). Applicants will co-facilitate the CTC coalition meetings coordinate the youth arm of the coalition build relationships with community partners and assist with administrative duties. Must be able to work some evenings and weekend events/meetings. This is a grant-funded position. The coordinator will report directly to the Youth & Family Services Department Manager. The Coordinator will:

  • Co-facilitate coalition meetings
  • Recruit youth to participate and support youth leadership
  • Supervise and support youth meetings and projects
  • Collaborate and foster positive relationships with community partners
  • Track data and report on outcomes specific to the coalition
  • Support youth to assist in facilitating positive youth development trainings
  • Help market programming to local youth families and the Summit community
  • Procure the necessary space supplies and food & beverages for the coalition
  • Assist in related reporting and administrative requirements
Additional activities include:
  • Serve as an adult facilitator of positive youth development trainings
  • Attend community youth programming meetings
  • Participate in Public Health and Youth & Family Services Department meetings and initiatives
  • Assist at community events and fairs
  • Participate in ongoing professional development related to prevention positive youth development and other youth health related topics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Typical Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the CTC Coordinator position should possess the following education experience and formal training:

  • Bachelors degree in Education Social Work Health or related field.
  • Three or more years experience working with youth
  • Obtain and/or maintain Youth Development and Prevention credentials
  • Candidates must possess knowledge of general office procedures record-keeping practices and proficiency in MS Excel MS Word and database reporting.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills along with the ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities are essential.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written are required as well as the ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Proficiency in utilizing phone systems operating digital fax copier and printer equipment is expected.
  • While Spanish language skills are not required they would be highly advantageous.
  • Lastly candidates must possess a valid Colorado Drivers License and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
