Job Description

Neonatal APP: NeonatalNurse Practitioner (NNP) or Neonatal Physician Assistant

Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center (JHBMC) Baltimore MD


As part of the Johns Hopkins Medicine (JHM) system Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center (JHBMC) features a 26-bed Level III NICU and serves as a regional perinatal center in southeast Baltimore City. Our NICU cares for infants from 23 weeks gestational age and above addressing a wide range of neonatal pathologies and complexities while providing a full spectrum of respiratory support devices including bubble CPAP high-flow nasal cannula ventilator and inhaled nitric oxide. As a provider in our NICU you will attend high-risk deliveries care for NICU patients and be a member of our Pediatric Code Team while also having the opportunity to engage in research education mentoring and patient safety intiatives.

As an independent healthcare provider the NNP/APP will:
Take medical histories and perform physical examinations
Order and interpret laboratory tests
Perform procedures including intubations ventilator management central line placements thoracentesis thoracostomy exchange transfusions lumbar punctures suprapubic taps
Prescribe controlled and non-controlled substances and perform intraosseous (IO) procedures

Shifts:
Full-time 36 hours per week
Rotating day and night shifts
Weekends and holidays required


Qualifications:
MSN/DNP from an accredited nursing program or equivalent training for Physician Assistants Active Maryland RN and Neonatal CRNP licenses or appropriate Physician Assistant certifications
BLS CPR and NRP certifications
For new graduate NNPs: 3 years of NICU RN experience required; Physician Assistants considered based on training and relevant work experience
Active Maryland CDS and Federal DEA licenses

Salary Range: Minimum$58.60/hour - Maximum$90.83/ will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
