DevOps Infrastructure Engineering Expert
Roches expanding digital product portfolio demonstrates its commitment to provide healthcare professionals laboratories and patients with digital and digitally-enabled solutions that transform patient care. The existing product portfolio includes decision support systems data management solutions and workflow solutions. At the center of these diverse types of solutions is always patient data security and privacy as the highest priority for Roche.
In this context Roche has built a global team that builds secures and operates infrastructure platforms (cloud and on-prem) for its digital products. This team is working with a high freedom to operate in a self-organized setup and is responsible for tackling the cybersecurity compliance and infrastructure challenges of the healthcare industry while enabling high-velocity product development.
At Roche we offer a hybrid work model that combines flexibility with in-person collaboration. For now we require our employees to be in our offices on average two days per week. The specific office days may vary depending on business needs such as workshops conferences town halls team meetings and other collaborative events.
The Opportunity:
In the position of DevOps Infrastructure Engineering Expert you will join the Cloud Secure Account Management team that builds the cloud platform for a global portfolio of digital products. It serves as the center of excellence for cloud infrastructure security and governance. It enables digital products application teams to build and operate healthcare solutions through secure standardized infrastructure while maintaining the digital products development autonomy. You will join a growing engineering team that will provide this core platform capability and innovate on it.
Your responsibilities will include:
Software Development: This is a software development position to write high quality software that will perform at scale be supportable and be extensible.
Process & Operations: Ensure the software stack integrates with our existing CI/CD pipelines and contribute to continuous improvement; independently design plan and deliver high-quality software. Providing technical support for day-to-day operations tool integration automation support change management and business continuity programs.
Leadership: Ensure a culture that values technical excellence together with support and compassion for individuals
Evangelism: Serve as a key evangelist to promote healthy DevSecOps software development practices within the Roche Engineering Community.
Design build test and maintain scalable secure and efficient cloud infrastructure.
Develop infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform CloudFormation or equivalent.
Oversee the lifecycle of cloud account provisioning ensuring compliance with security policies and best practices.
Create scripts software customizations templates to ensure speed of delivery
Champion automation and evangelize lean development
Work with DevOps and DevSecOps Teams with emphasis on security
Implement and enforce security measures including identity and access management (IAM) to protect cloud accounts and data.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Cooperating with other product streams to diagnose and understand their needs proposing solutions and providing technological consultancy
Document processes procedures and configurations to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
Lead incident response efforts to quickly resolve infrastructure-related issues.
Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid future incidents
Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to enhance the platform.
Lead mentor and coordinate a team of DevOps engineers to ensure the successful development deployment and maintenance of scalable reliable and efficient infrastructure solutions.
Who You Are:
Excellent communicator with diverse team members and stakeholders.
Strong team orientation and customer focus with a proven track record in problem-solving.
Experienced with the software development lifecycle and cross-functional teams with skills in Python design patterns and Object-Oriented programming.
Well-versed in DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure trends tools and practices including CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform CloudFormation).
Knowledgeable in designing IT solutions architecture with good practices and standards.
Experienced in Cloud infrastructure with medium to large global enterprises and global geographical topologies.
Proficient in DevOps methodologies including CI/CD containerization (Docker Kubernetes) orchestration and software development process automation.
Highly motivated to learn new technologies and share that knowledge with programming skills in languages such as C GoLang Ruby Python and Java.
Nice to Have:
AWS Certifications (Developer Solution Architect Associate / Professional SysOps)
Experience with log/event/metric collector and visualization tools (Grafana ELK Prometheus)
