Purpose

The Manager Control & Sustainment Function will support the development execution and continuous enhancement of the control and governance framework across Trade Finance Operations. This role plays a critical part in monitoring operational performance sustaining remediation actions managing KPIs/KRIs and contributing to the overall control health of the organization.

Is this role right for you In this role you will:

Control Monitoring & Reporting

  • Support the monthly reporting and tracking of global KPIs and KRIs including breach escalation and evidence collection from regional hubs.
  • Prepare dashboards and trend analysis for the monthly Control Environment Review Forum.

Issue Management & Sustainment

  • Track and validate remediation of audit and risk issues.
  • Conduct control assessments and ensure controls are operating effectively post-remediation.

Process Reviews & Testing Support

  • Support thematic reviews and control testing in partnership with Risk & Control teams.
  • Identify process control gaps and propose enhancements to mitigate residual risk.

Governance & Documentation

  • Maintain documentation of control frameworks operating procedures and testing evidence.
  • Coordinate inputs for governance forums audit responses and risk committee presentations.

Collaboration

  • Work with regional ops teams to gather data and support control validation activities.
  • Partner with Compliance Operational Risk and Audit teams on ongoing monitoring and remediation follow-ups.
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts retains develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabanks Values its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles while ensuring the adequacy adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational compliance AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role Wed love to work with you if you have:

  • Prior experience in Trade Finance Operations Risk & Controls or Internal Audit.
  • Familiarity with trade finance processes and associated risks.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel PowerPoint and dashboard tools (e.g. Power BI).
  • CDCS or trade certification is an asset.

Work Arrangement: This position is currently a Hybrid role. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
