Job Summary

As the main owner of safety and security training across the Mountain America Credit Union footprint the OSS Administrator ensures that facilities team members and the general publics safety is carefully monitored and can operate in a best-in-class security environment. The OSS Administrator supports the function of the operational safety and security department through security education and response protocol physical security programs and safety and security systems.

SCHEDULE

Full Time

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To be effective an individual must be able to perform each essential duty successfully.

Training and Security Education:

  • Designs implements instructs evaluates and tracks team member safety and robbery training.
  • Drives enterprise-wide changes/improvements of physical security risk mitigation.
  • Creates and ensures implementation and administration of enterprise-wide robbery programs and security/safety programs.
  • Owns the safety and security onboarding training and education of of new branch leadership.
  • Designs conducts and ensures successful onboarding training and continued improvement of new MACU Security personnel and ensures partnership with Safety & Security Officer peer for administration of onboarding process.
  • Responsible to design and ensure administration of (or via delegation to Officers) physical security site reviews inspections evaluations branch personnel trainings etc.
  • Drives analysis and resolution of incidents via metric analysis and best in class industry physical security standards.
  • Functional lead and partner with Operational Security Officers in the planning and performing of executive leadership security detail.
  • Responsible for special event security detail with management oversight and coordination of third-party venue security protocol.
  • Acts as a liaison with law enforcement on criminal matters or events.
  • Responds to and manages emergency situations.
  • Regularly perform some after hour services.
  • Some Travel required.

Project Management:

  • Oversees project development and project management of security design and security system installation.
  • Oversees the bid process for security projects.
  • Ensures security products and costs are within MACU expectations and budget guidelines.
  • Ensures all security requirements for new and existing properties are met in accordance with internal and external regulatory guidelines.
  • Subject Matter Expert for all security considerations tied to project requirements deadlines goals and objectives for new and existing MACU properties.

Safety And Security Systems:

  • Oversees physical security systems such as alarms access control and surveillance systems.
  • Administers and maintains physical security controls of buildings.
  • Works with security vendors to maintain working knowledge of industry standards improvements and trends.
  • Manages daily use of access control system and alarm codes.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

Experience

  • 5 years of law enforcement physical/operational security or similar experience required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and/or CAD drawings.
  • Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice experience preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Experience with Surveillance Alarm and Access control systems preferred.

Education

Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice or similar. Or equivalent work experience.

Licenses Certificates Registrations

Maintain a Utah concealed carry permit and/or maintain authorization firearm carry through H.R. 218 the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act.

Current or previous POST Category I certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for surveilling patrolling maintaining peace and order.
  • Ensures the safety of lives and property through the proper and safe use of a firearm.
  • Responsible to pass annual firearm qualification.

Computer/Office Equipment Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite.

Managerial Responsibility

No managerial responsibilities.

Language Skills

  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent presentation skills technologically and verbally.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Highly skilled and considered expert in de-escalation of high stress and complex situations involving public safety of visitors vendors employees and members.
  • Knowledge of the methods and practices used in a modern security program.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and ordinances.
  • Ability to remain alert at all times and to detect suspicious or unusual occurrences.
  • Ability to use good judgment discretion and tact and react quickly to situations.
  • Ability to enforce rules and regulations firmly tactfully and impartially.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills including leadership ability to lead and collaborate with others in cross-functional situations and skilled in establishing rapport and connection with others both inside and outside Mountain America.
  • Possess a desire and willingness to learn and continually update knowledge of financial concepts strategies systems etc.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES / WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit talk and hear consistently.
  • Ability to stand walk and use hands to handle or reach occasionally. Must have ability to operate a car golf cart or other motorized vehicle.
  • May occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to pass annual firearm qualification training.

Vision Requirements

Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)

Environmental

Typical office/lobby environment with some foot patrols outdoors

Noise Environment

Moderate noise (business office with computers and printers light traffic)

Travel Requirements

Regular travel to branch locations across the Credit Union footprint and occasional attendance at Credit Union hosted functions.
