Job Summary
Provides personal care assistance instruction and promotes independence and quality of life for residents. The Residential Aide also performs a variety of household tasks essential to the operation and cleanliness of the group home..
Essential Functions
Assists and instructs residents with ADLs and personal care according to each residents care guidelines.
Monitors the health of residents and reports any signs of residents illness to the supervisor or designated medical staff. Attends staff meetings resident care conferences and in-service education programs as assigned.
Dispenses and charts medication according to each residents medication chart. Administers tube feedings dressing changes and assists with other medical care under RN supervision/direction as needed.
Transports residents in company vehicles to community appointments and recreational events as assigned and to on site day activity. At times will research and develop a monthly calendar of community events.
Prepares meals according to dietary menu and resident dietary guidelines inviting resident participation as appropriate according to resident care plans and goals and swallowing guidelines.
Maintains a clean orderly foster home environment does daily laundry and invites resident participation in these activities as appropriate according to resident care plans and goals.
Completes daily documentation on the level of resident care provided on activities on goals addressed on health status and on any behavior programming. Demonstrates knowledge of safety and infection control policies and procedures maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 30 Days Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 30 Days
CRT-First Aid - AHA American Heart Association 30 Days
Preferred
1 year of relevant experience in a rehabilitation or health care setting
LIC-Chauffeur License - STATEMI State of Michigan 90 Days
