Transportation Construction Supervisor (Level I and II) Districts 10 11 12 Pennsylvania
Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering LLC (ICE) is actively seeking a talented and motivated Transportation Construction Supervisor I or II to join our team in support PennDOT Districts 10 11 or 12 and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission infrastructure projects in Western Pennsylvania. This role focuses on executing our Construction Inspection (CI) work based in our Pittsburgh Office while fostering strong relationships with clients contractors consultants and business partners. Responsibilities Build and maintain strong relationships with client managers serving as the clients representative in interactions with contractors and vendors. Oversee and document contractor field activities for highway and bridge construction projects primarily under PennDOT. Enforce contract requirements supervise inspection personnel and attend project progress meetings to ensure construction compliance and alignment with project goals. Record daily construction progress and contractor performance using established systems and platforms. Prepare contractor payment estimates based on verified work completion and approved quantities. Draft and process work order authorizations for adjustments to construction items including increases or decreases in scope. Coordinate closely with contractors to align field activities with project schedules and requirements
Qualifications - Valid drivers license with a safe driving record.

- Ability to walk construction sites in various weather conditions.
- Ability to read write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
- Completion of pre-employment screenings.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma or GED. Meet PennDOTs minimum experience and training requirements; classification level is based on years of construction related experience and number of certifications obtained. 5 years of related PennDOT experience. Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field may be substituted for four (4) years of experience; Associates Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field may be substituted for two (2) years of experience. Must hold have current certifications for NICET Level III Certification (or higher) in Heavy Highway Construction PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification and NECEPT Field Technician Certification. ACI Field Technician Certification CDS V3 experience ECMS Wave 5 training Materials Testing or Bridge Condition Inspection and Troxler Nuclear Gauge Certification are desirable.
Physical Demands While working in the office this position predominantly involves up to 8 hours per day at a computer workstation with occasional standing and walking. The employee may occasionally lift lightweight office supplies and materials typically not exceeding 50 pounds. The office environment is indoors characterized by controlled temperatures and minimal exposure to adverse conditions. Must have visual acuity to recognize/change/add precise details on CAD drawings. During fieldwork the position entails moderate physical exertion encompassing walking standing bending and ascending stairs or ladders. The employee may occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Fieldwork exposes inspectors to various environmental conditions including but not limited to loud noise levels dust dirt and temperature fluctuations. Inspectors must adeptly navigate construction sites and conduct thorough inspections of materials and structures.
Expected Hours of Work This position is full-time (40 hours per week). Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday allowing one unpaid hour for lunch each day. While overtime is generally not anticipated occasional projects or deadlines may necessitate additional hours compensated according to company policy. Flexible schedules may be available with prior approval from the immediate supervisor. Work schedules may vary based on project demands.
