About the role
The Specialist LGBTQIA Family & Domestic Violence Practitioner will provide therapeutic case management support to LGBTQIA and people living with HIV (PLHIV) who are victims/survivors of family and/or domestic violence. This key role will:
Undertake individual assessments of clients needs goals and safety across a broad range of life domains.
Assist clients to understand their experience explore their support options and implement appropriate strategies/actions.
Build relationships and liaise with other service providers regarding case planning referrals and client progress.
Conduct family and domestic violence child safety and suicide risk assessments
Participate in co-design and co-production initiatives.
Ensure client work is guided by client-centred intersectional feminist approaches.

About you
You will have a relevant tertiary qualification in health human and/or community services (e.g. social work psychology or counselling) with eligibility for membership with a relevant professional association (e.g. AASW AHPRA APS PACFA etc.)
You will also bring to the role:
Comprehensive understanding of family and domestic violence informed by theoretical frameworks.
Experience working with individuals who have experienced family and domestic violence.
Experience with evidence-based therapeutic frameworks trauma-informed practice skills and diverse client groups.
Excellent oral and written communication organisational and administrative/reporting skills.
An interest and commitment to working with people from LGBTQIA communities and people living with or affected by HIV.
A current South Australian Driver Licence.
