Jefferson Healthcare () is looking for a full-time Patient Financial Counselor to join our team. Patient financial counselors have key role in supporting our patients by connecting them to health care funding sources starting with reviewing accounts for accuracy and completeness and answering questions regarding patient bills and associated estimates. This important role on the revenue cycle team also provides guidance when determining payment plan options and maintenance on those accounts. This is an on site position working with 3 other patient financial counselors. requires a high degree of professionalism and an ability to navigate ambiguous or challenging situations as well as sometimes interpret information. Attention to detail critical thinking and a customer service mindset are essential to ensuring that patients have a smooth and successful healthcare experience.
An ideal candidate will have financial counseling billing or other hospital revenue cycle experience OR has worked as a health insurance agent or similar. Recent experience in a medical registration role is a must. The ideal candidate will also have a strong background in customer service be able to clearly and effectively communicate to a diverse patient population and be interested in program/process improvement. The ability to multitask and handle patient inquiries and patient information with sensitivity and professionalism is a must and EMR experience especially with Epic is a plus! Schedule: 1.0 FTE; 40 hours/week; Day Shift No weekends!

What youll need:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Customer Service training and experience required
- Effective written and verbal communication skills required
- Knowledge of Medicare Medicaid and Commercial Insurance remits required
- 2 years working in a business office setting preferred ideally financial in nature
- Proficiency with typing and working knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred
