THE POSITION

We are seeking a hardworking Security Officer 1 to help us keep the center safe so we can continue to offer Pennsylvanias veterans and their spouses care and support to live active and healthy lives. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Security Officer 1 you will be responsible for the protection of persons and property at Southeastern Veterans Center. Your duties will include working desk duty monitoring the camera system patrolling the grounds by car and foot and making rounds of the building and grounds. In this position you will complete assigned tours and check locks make sure buildings are secure after hours and document observations and actions by completing daily reports. You can expect to conduct investigations by gathering evidence and interviewing victims witnesses and suspects. You will also direct and control traffic and respond promptly to emergency calls. Additionally you will assist visitors residents and staff by answering telephones and giving directions and information as well as assist nursing in locating and returning missing residents.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM on a rotating schedule including every weekend. This may change based on operational needs.
- Travel and overtime as needed
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:In some cases the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirements:
- You must to be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operators license.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Willingness to work in Chester County PA
- Willingness to work a permanent full-time position
- Previous experience in the security field
- Previous experience in a nursing-type facility searching for missing residents or assisting residents during an emergency
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will requirea medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.
