Position: Boys Varsity Golf Coach

Location: Monroe High School
Reports To: Athletic Director

Position Summary:

Monroe High School is seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to lead the Boys Varsity Golf program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student-athlete development team success and adherence to the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) rules and Monroe Public Schools standards of conduct. This position plays a vital role in shaping the athletic academic and personal growth of participating student-athletes.

Primary Responsibilities:

Plan and conduct regular practices that build fundamental golf skills teamwork and competitive strategy.
Coordinate match schedules transportation and communication with families and school administration.
Supervise student-athletes to ensure compliance with team school and MHSAA expectations.
Maintain program equipment and uniforms in coordination with the Athletic Department.
Build and lead a cohesive coaching staff that supports the goals of the program.
Foster a team culture that values sportsmanship academic achievement and personal responsibility.

Qualifications:

Coaching experience in the sport is highly preferred.
Demonstrated skills in organization strategic planning and teaching golf fundamentals.
Recognized ability to develop and lead an effective team of coaches.
Strong leadership presence that promotes a competitive spirit while maintaining sportsmanship and composure among athletes staff and fans.
Commitment to uphold and enforce all MHSAA regulations and Monroe Public Schools codes of conduct.
Willingness to set and support a high standard of academic performance for all athletes.
Ability to build positive collaborative relationships with students parents school administrators teaching staff and support personnel.

Additional Requirements:

Must meet all MHSAA coaching requirements including CPR certification and background clearance.
Must be available for practices matches and team events including evenings and weekends.
Completion of onboarding including fingerprinting and compliance training is required prior to start.
