As our business continues to grow we are looking to add an Electrical Engineering Co-op to our Special Test Equipment Development Engineering Group.
As a member of the FOS team your primary focus would be the development of Specialized Test Equipment used to test product through all phases of design and production. You would also assist with presenting designs to internal and external customers for review and addressing technical issues. A solid understanding of circuit theory components firmware software and troubleshooting skills will be developed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Focus on the design and development of specialized systems and special test equipment for electronic electro-mechanical and mechanical products.
- Extensive analog and digital circuit design microcontrollers data acquisition filtering/conditioning printed circuit design measurement error analysis and future system-level engineering.
- Utilization of CAE tools such as Altium and SPICE and laboratory equipment such as DMMs oscilloscopes function generators etc. used to perform circuit design verification and troubleshooting.
- Working with or creating embedded firmware to control hardware. Working with various serial communication protocols such as RS-232 RS-422 SPI I2C etc.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Electrical & Computer Engineering or related field
Preferred Skills:
- Some understanding of basic analog building blocks including differential amplifiers op amps LDOs filters and data converters
- Novice with basic digital building blocks including logic gates flip flops timers and filters
- Little to no experience with standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes function generators meters etc.)
- Little to no experience with modeling and simulation utilities (SPICE MATLAB/Simulink etc.)
- Novice in creating Technical Documentation (Engineering Drawings Calibration Procedures Validation Procedures Operating Instructions etc.)
- Novice in writing code in C language.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications
- Currently pursuing a BSEE BSCompE or BSEET degree GPA > 3.0
