Our Purpose:
The Ashford team is growing and we are looking for our next Ashfordian! The Master Electrician oversees and manages all electrical systems within the properties under Ashford Communities. This includes conducting inspections troubleshooting electrical issues performing repairs and installations ensuring compliance with safety regulations and coordinating with other maintenance personnel. Additionally the Master Electrician will be responsible for maintaining electrical records managing electrical projects and providing technical expertise and guidance to the property management team.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Master Electrician to join the Ashford Communities Team. The Master Electrician will be responsible for overseeing electrical maintenance repairs and installations across our properties to ensure safety compliance and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of electrical systems strong leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. The candidate should also have a current Master Electrician License.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems in properties to identify and resolve issues promptly.
Plan and execute electrical maintenance and repair projects in accordance with building codes and safety regulations including pulling permits from the City of Houston/ Austin scheduling inspections and getting the required green tags.
Install repair and maintain electrical components fixtures and systems in residential and commercial properties.
Collaborate with community managers and maintenance staff to address electrical issues and provide technical guidance.
Troubleshoot electrical problems diagnose faults and implement effective solutions to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
Maintain accurate records of electrical work inspections and repairs for compliance and reporting purposes.
Train and mentor the maintenance staff on best practices and safety procedures.
Stay updated on industry trends regulations and advancements in electrical technology to enhance property operations.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
Valid Master Electrician license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Proficient in reading electrical blueprints schematics and technical drawings.
Strong knowledge of electrical codes regulations and safety standards.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Effective communication skills and ability to interact professionally with tenants property owners and contractors.
Bilingual and must be able to speak and read in both English and Spanish!
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent 2-year Technical accreditation a plus!
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance and repair preferably in a property management or real estate setting.
Low voltage experience is helpful but not required.
Working Conditions:
Minimal Travel (<25% travel): May be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends nights and holidays required. There is a potential to be on call during peak and seasonal periods.
Frequent bending lifting to 25 pounds sitting exposure to multiple external elements and extensive walking throughout Ashford Properties.
